What to get an 11-year-old

At 11 they still play, but they laugh at anything that looks like a little kid's toy. Give them something that feels real and keeps them busy all weekend.

Gift ideas for an 11-year-old

Eight ideas in two groups — real things they'll actually use at this age.

Build it and figure it out

At this age they can sit over one project for hours, so give them one that takes time and leaves something real at the end.

Outside and with friends

At 11 the yard and friends still matter most, so give them something to take outside and share.

What makes 11 different

Three things worth knowing before you buy.

  • Between kid and teen

They still love to play but may be offended by a box that says 'kids'. Go for real things: a real ball, a real tool, hundreds of pieces. A toy for little ones, however expensive, usually ends up in a drawer.

  • The age of big projects

They can now follow instructions to the end and spend a whole weekend on one thing. Many already have a favourite — football, experiments, drawing — and the best gift feeds exactly that.

  • Growing in spurts

Many kids grow fast around now, and shoes or clothes are too small within months. Don't guess the size — ask the parents or check the list, where the size and colour sit right on the wish.

How Wishler helps here

At 11 the parent keeps the list — the child chooses, the family reserves.

  1. The parent makes a child's list

From your own account you create a separate list for your child. They show you what they want, you paste the shop link, and the photo and price fill in (the price may be approximate).

  2. One link for grandma, uncles and godparents

The list has its own link. No followers, comments or search — only people you send the link to can see it. The page shows the birthday's day and month only.

  3. Family reserve or chip in

A reserved gift isn't bought twice; you see what's taken, never by whom. For the building set or the skateboard several relatives chip in together, and the money goes straight to you — Wishler holds none of it.

Questions people ask

What to get an 11-year-old boy or girl?

At this age the hobby matters more than gender: one is all about football, another draws or runs experiments. Almost every idea on this page works for both. Ask the parents what they're into right now, or ask for the child's list.

Are 11-year-olds too old for building sets?

Often not, if the set looks grown-up: moving mechanisms and hundreds of pieces. Check the age on the box — 9+ or 10+ sets suit 11 best, while a 4+ set will feel babyish.

How much should I spend on an 11-year-old's gift?

There's no rule. A board game or a badminton set for 40–70 ₾ is a perfectly good gift; for anything over 150 ₾, it's better for a few relatives to chip in. That way one big wish comes true instead of five random small things.

This year, the thing they picked themselves

Five minutes on the list together, one link in the family chat — and no 'I already have this' at the party.
