What to get a 6-year-old
Six is the year of the first school bag, the first class and the first party the whole class comes to. Here are gifts a first-grader will really play with — and a way to know what the child wants, even if you've only seen them at the school gate.

What changes at six
Three things worth knowing before you buy.
-
The whole class is invited
In first grade the party often means the whole class, so gifts are chosen by parents who barely know the child. They need a hint, not a guess.
-
Half schoolkid, half still little
A six-year-old wants to be seen as big but still plays on the floor. Toys marked 6+ fit that middle: real rules, without fiddly tiny parts.
-
Feet and height grow fast
Skates or a bike bought “to grow into” are too big now and too small next year. The exact size belongs on the list.
How Wishler helps here
The parent keeps the list; the class picks from it.
-
Make the list with your first-grader
You keep your child's list: they point, you add. Paste a shop link and Wishler fills in the photo and price (it may be approximate). Put the skate size right on the wish.
-
One link in the class chat
A child's list has its own link, and the page shows only the day and month of the birthday, never the year. Parents open it in any browser and install nothing.
-
Reserve, or chip in on the bike
A reserved gift isn't bought twice; you see what's taken, never by whom. For the bike, several families chip in: everyone sees what's collected and what's left, and the money goes straight to you — Wishler holds none of it.
Questions people ask
What to get a 6-year-old girl or boy?
Look at what the child plays with now, not at the colour of the box. A question game, a 6+ building set or a dinosaur dig kit work for both; the most precise answer is on the child's list.
How much should I spend on a classmate's gift in first grade?
There's no rule. In some classes the parents agree on a rough amount in the chat. A good board game for 20–40 ₾ is a perfectly fine gift, and something big is better chipped in on by several families.
Is a school item — a backpack or pencil case — a good birthday gift?
Usually not: parents buy school things themselves, the way the school asks. If the child needs something for school, the parents will put it on the list.
First grade, first big party
Two minutes for your child's list, one link in the class chat — and nobody in the class has to guess.
